Author Guidelines

Journal of Learning and Educational Nexus (JOLENEXUS)

The Journal of Learning and Educational Nexus (JOLENEXUS) welcome original, high-quality manuscripts that explore the intersections of learning, teaching, and educational innovation. Authors are encouraged to read and follow these guidelines carefully before submitting their manuscripts.

  1. Manuscript Categories

JOLENEXUS accepts the following types of submissions:

  • Original Research Articles – Empirical studies that contribute new insights to the fields of learning, teaching, and education.
  • Systematic Reviews – Comprehensive, methodologically rigorous reviews that synthesize existing evidence on specific educational topics.
  • Bibliometric Reviews – Analyses of publication trends, citation patterns, and research networks within the educational field.
  • Meta-Analyses – Quantitative reviews that statistically combine results from multiple studies to draw broader conclusions.
  • Conceptual and Theoretical Papers – Articles offering new conceptual models, frameworks, or theoretical perspectives.
  • Case Studies / Action Research Reports – Practice-oriented research describing innovative teaching or learning interventions.
  • Book Reviews / Short Communications – Concise reflections, reports, or critical analyses of recent scholarly works or educational developments.

2. Manuscript Preparation

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts adhere to the following standards:

  1. Language and Style
  • Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise, and scholarly English.
  • Authors should use inclusive, bias-free, and non-discriminatory language.

      2. Formatting

  • Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • Use Times New Roman, font size 12, double-spaced.
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
  • Number all pages consecutively.

      3. Manuscript Structure

      A. Title Page

  • Full title of the paper
  • Author(s) full name(s), institutional affiliation(s), and ORCID (if available)
  • Corresponding author’s email address and postal address

       B. Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract: Maximum 250 words, summarizing purpose, methods, findings, and implications.
  • Keywords: 4–6 keywords arranged alphabetically.

       C. Main Text Sections

  • Introduction
  • Literature Review / Theoretical Framework
  • Methodology
  • Results / Findings
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion and Implications
  • Limitations
  • Suggestion for further studies

       D. Acknowledgements (if applicable)

       E. References

       F. Length

  • Original Research Articles: 4,000–7,000 words
  • Systematic Reviews / Meta-Analyses / Bibliometric Reviews: 4,000–8,000 words
  • Conceptual or Theoretical Papers: 3,000–6,000 words
  • Case Studies or Short Reports: 1,500–3,000 words

3. Tables, Figures, and Illustrations

  • Each table and figure should be numbered consecutively and titled clearly.
  • Include tables and figures within the text after their first mention.
  • Ensure all figures are of high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).

4. Referencing Style

All references should follow the APA 7th Edition referencing style.

  • Journal article:

Aaaaaa, A. O., & Bbbbbbb, B. O. (2024). Inquiry-based learning in early childhood science education. JOLENEXUS Education Review, 12(3), 45–58.

  • Book:

Pjjjjjjjjjj, J. (1952). The origins of educational intelligence. International Universities Press.

5. Ethical Considerations

  • Manuscripts must represent original work not previously published or under review elsewhere.
  • Authors must obtain ethical clearance for studies involving human participants.
  • All funding sources, institutional support, and potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed.

6. Peer Review Policy

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process:

  • Authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
  • Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two experts in the field.
  • The editorial decision (acceptance, revision, or rejection) will be communicated within 8–12 weeks of submission.

7. Copyright and Open Access

Upon acceptance, authors will sign a copyright transfer or open-access publishing agreement, depending on the publisher’s model. Authors retain rights for educational and non-commercial use, provided proper citation of the published version is made.

8. Submission Procedure

All manuscripts should be submitted electronically via the journal’s submission portal:

Authors will receive an acknowledgment of receipt and tracking information for their submission.

9. Article Processing Charges (APC)

To support the cost of editorial management, online hosting, and open access dissemination, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) upon acceptance of their manuscript. No submission fees are charged at the time of initial submission.

The APC varies by the author’s region as follows:

Notes:

  • There are no submission fees; payment is only required after a manuscript has been accepted for publication.
  • APCs cover the costs of online publication and long-term digital archiving.
  • Authors experiencing financial constraints may apply for a partial or full waiver, subject to editorial board approval.
  • Payment instructions will be provided to corresponding authors after acceptance.

10. Publication Frequency

The Journal of Learning and Educational Nexus (JOLENEXUS) is published three times a year (in April, August, and December).

This triannual publication schedule ensures a steady flow of high-quality, peer-reviewed research while allowing sufficient time for rigorous review and editorial processes.

Special issues may be released occasionally to address emerging themes, global educational trends, or collaborations with academic conferences and research networks.
